Kam Buckner
Illinois State Representative; Chicago Mayoral Candidate 2023

Representative Kam Buckner represents the 26th Legislative District in the Illinois House of Representatives, a district completely situated in the City of Chicago. Previously, he served as executive director of World Sport Chicago, an organization that uses sports as a tool to provide life-skill training and opportunities to youth in Chicago's most under-resourced communities.
Buckner led the living legacy of Chicago’s bid for the 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games at World Sport Chicago. Before that, he led the government and neighborhood relations efforts for the Chicago Cubs as the team worked through several iterations of the $675 million plan to renovate and expand Wrigley Field. Previously, he worked for Mayor Mitch Landrieu of New Orleans and as an aide to US Senator Dick Durbin. He is on the board of Major League Soccer’s Chicago Fire Foundation and is a member of the Business Leadership Council and the Economic Club of Chicago.
