Jonathan Chaparro

Jonathan Chaparro leads the Chicago region of Braven, an organization that works to empower underrepresented young people with the skills, confidence, experience, and networks necessary to transition from college to strong first jobs and meaningful careers. He is committed to expanding opportunities for the historically disenfranchised. Chaparro previously held a variety of roles in talent acquisition, talent development, and outreach for a variety of nonprofit and corporate organizations including Teach For America, Noble Network of Charter Schools, ArcerlorMittal, and Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP.

As a native of Chicago, Chaparro has held leadership roles on the auxiliary boards of various nonprofits, including KIPP Chicago, Friends of the Parks, and One Million Degrees. He also partnered with the Chicago office of McKinsey & Company to support their GetSet mentoring program. Previously, he also served on the board of directors for the Chicago Rowing Union, the Midwest’s only LGBT rowing organization. Chaparro is a 2017 Surge Institute Fellowship alum and holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Iowa in communication studies and a master’s degree from Dominican University.
