Claudia Carravetta is the vice president of business evolution strategic development at AbbVie, a biopharmaceutical company based in North Chicago. In this capacity, she develops and drives government and public affairs strategies and advances public policy solutions to improve patient access to innovative medicines across Latin America, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia Pacific. In addition, she advises senior business leaders on policy and economic trends and potential political risks that may impact AbbVie’s business. She previously led the company’s government affairs therapeutic area strategies team, overseeing alliance development, policy public affairs campaigns, and advocacy in support of priority therapeutic areas.

Before joining AbbVie, Carravetta served in positions in both international and US public affairs at Pfizer in New York. She also spent several years at Orbis International, an international public health NGO, where she worked with country programs in South and Southeast Asia and Africa to empower local communities to address avoidable blindness through training and collaboration. Early in her career, Carravetta was a legislative aide in New York’s Suffolk County Legislature.

Carravetta holds an MBA in international business and strategy from NYU’s Stern School of Business, an MA in international relations from the University of Warwick in the United Kingdom, and a BA in political science from McGill University in Canada.
