Brian Gill

Brian Gill oversees government relations and legislative and policy agenda at Chicago's Shedd Aquarium. Through developing and maintaining key relationships with stakeholders, elected officials, and government agencies, Gill works to influence conservation, operations, funding, economic impact, sustainability, tourism, and other priorities on the local, state, and federal levels. 

Before joining Shedd, Gill served as federal policy director for the Illinois Environmental Council (IEC), where he led the organization’s efforts to engage on federal environmental policy. He also previously consulted for foundations, non-profits, and political campaigns on community engagement strategy, campaign execution, and program design. Additionally, Gill served in the federal government, where he worked in legislative affairs for the US Department of Defense and for the White House Office of Management and Budget. Gill holds a Bachelor of Arts in economics from the University of Colorado.
