Allison Tingwall
Executive Director of Principal Quality, Chicago Public Schools

Allison Tingwall previously served as the principal of Curie High School, the third-largest school in Chicago. In her first three years as principal, Curie saw a 90 percent reduction in arrests, a 74 percent reduction in on-campus fights, an increase of five percent in college enrollment, and an increase of over eight percent in freshmen on track. She began her career in education as a Spanish and math teacher at North Lawndale College Prep and further developed her instructional leadership as an adjunct lecturer at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) and a resident principal at Back of the Yards College Prep. Tingwall has been involved with Basketball as a Mission, a nonprofit that runs youth basketball camps in Central America, as a volunteer coach and board member since 2009. She holds a BA from the University of Michigan, an MEd from UIC in instructional leadership, and an EdD from UIC in urban education leadership.
