HSLDA is the Homeschool Legal Defence Association, or as I've referred to it more than once, the NRA of the homeschooling world. HSLDA has never met a single government regulation regarding homeschooling that they like. We were members of an HSLDA-affiliated co-op here at one point. then decided to also sign up with Epic, an online charter school (a public school, of course). When the co-op found out, they kicked us out, because they were worried that our membership (and others like us) would somehow invite and allow government oversight of their co-op. They're just a really paranoid group, and I'm not very fond of them or their more outspoken members. ThinkProgress (yeah, I know) has this piece up today about connections between HSLDA and several Russians. I think in general it's part of the "The Russians are coming! The Russians are coming!" alarm that the Left is sounding. I don't doubt there's some risk, but I wonder if the risk is as great as anyone is making it out to be. Anyway, I wanted to get Leon's input on this specifically and comments in general. The latest front in Russian infiltration: America’s right-wing homeschooling movement

Ok so you want the truth? From talking to high officials in Russia (visiting NYC) there's nothing here. Russians actually fear American manufacturing bs to make the whole Left's reaction and accusations sound like they were right all along. This particular thing? I mean.. I have no words.
