This forum and I have been very quiet about the recent presidential election. We have also been very quiet about pretty much everything.
After the SCOTUS decision earlier today I decided I did not want to be quiet any longer. I voted for Joe Biden. Fact is I would have voted for anybody running against Trump. Not a position I take with pride but it is deeply felt.
When Trump was elected I was not happy but honestly felt he could not be as bad as I feared. I guess I felt the office would get to Trump and he would act presidential. Obviously not the best thinking I ever did. Within days of his election he was already making up facts such as the biggest inauguration crowd to ever attend an inauguration in history in spite of photographic evidence to the contrary. As I watched though the last 4 years I was struck by how often he lied and that most of his lies were unnecessary and/or quite petty.
In spite of his being the smartest man ever to serve as president I was also struck dumb by his complete lack of leadership. Good leaders surround themselves with good people and listens to them before making decisions. This man behaved quite childishly whenever something happened he did not like. He used Twitter to bludgeon those he disliked and made up names for his opponents that I would have expected from a spoiled 5 year old.
Then there is the matter of making promises to the people about what he would do. He promised on numerous occasions to release his tax records. He promised while running that we would have great new health plan to replace the Affordable Care Act. I guess 4 years was not long enough. Ask the coal miners how he faired on his promises to them.
I saw a post on this forum stating pretty firmly that Joe Biden was losing his cognitive abilities and was impaired. I am not a doctor so I cannot medically comment. But after 4 years of Trump Biden cannot do worse. But since the mental health of Biden has been questioned I have to say I would love to hear from psychiatric practitioners about Trump's mental condition. Narcissism, paranoia, and being a compulsive liar are the most apparent disorders I suspect he has in triplicate.
While I have say I am not opposed to America first policies. But this fool acted like alliances and treaties are made to be broken. The US is part of the world and must behave responsibly if we want to continue to lead the free world.
What can be said about his leadership during the pandemic? Even knowing it was real and not just the flu he encouraged the country to go maskless and demanded a reopening of the economy at a time when hunkering down was a better course or even better, take a scientific approach to reopening. Nobody will every know how many deaths his lies have caused and will continue to cause but he has the blood on his own hands. He shares those red hands with many other government officials including my own governor, that sycophantic Ron DeDantis.
I have not even mentioned his misogamy or racism. Suffice it to say I will be celebrating on January 20th, if I survive that long.

Up to and immediately following the election, I was firmly of the opinion that the Justice Dept should adopt a hands off approach to Trump. At this point, all gloves should come off and every single possible charge should be filed, including Treason. Trump has done more damage to the democracy of this nation than could be possibly believed in the past month and a half.
In addition, every single stinking Republican Senator and Representative (both federal AND state) who participated in the lie should also stand trial as an accessory to the Treason charge.

Trump has done more damage to the democracy of this nation than could be possibly believed in the past month and a half. While I cannot disagree, who opened this dance? There are enough allegations of misdeeds, and scores of people who are risking prison to bring the truth to this matter. The courts have refused to hear any case on the merits, dismissing cases on procedural or standing. Repeated rulings have always favored the Democrats with the most absurd interpretations possible. The fix is in, we all know it's in and the only politician with the testicles to fight is Trump.
I'm reasonably sure, by Easter, President Harris will be sitting in the White House. Biden is publicly compromised to a foreign power, and is rapidly advancing in his cognitive decline. He will either resign by either disgrace or health. The other alternative is the 25th Amendment. The House will never impeach, the disgrace would be devastating. Harris is a California Leftist that Stalin, Trotsky, Pol Pot and Mao would be proud of. She has already promised to exceed the level of Executive power that Obama achieved.

I don't know what to call it, "Biden Victory," "Democrat victory," whatever. But we now have a new level (by 3+ orders of magnitude) of "Pyrrhic Victory."

Bullshit. Risking prison? What a load of crapola. There hasn't been a shred of evidence to go along with all these supposed "eyewitnesses". The courts have dismissed the cases because there is. no. cooberating. evidence. None. Nada. Zilch.
Trump started his bullshit last spring when the pandemic hit and he failed to lead properly. And knowing he could lose the election, he kept on with the bullshit about fraudulent voting. This served a twofold purpose. One - Divert attention away from the fact he sucks at leading, especially during a pandemic. Two - Whip his "faithful" into a frenzy to keep eyes away from his dismal lack of leadership.
A good chunk of the nation's cybersecurity experts have all agreed with Chris Krebs. This election was one of the most secure ever. And this supposed bullshit about software shenanigans is exactly that. Bullshit.
So there's a stack of affidavits. Big whup. There's no evidence to go along with it. And the courts of have ruled correctly each time. No evidence. No case. Especially when these so called "witnesses" are discredited before they even get into court.
Trumps followers are too fucking stupid to vote, let alone make an informed decision as to what's really happening.

Source? Newsmax or OANN? Neither of which are very reputable with being truthful.

Actually, every case has been dismissed for either lack of standing, very narrow interpretation, procedural grounds or just plain declining to hear. For those who don't know, "Lack of standing" means in order to bring suit against another person, you have to prove the defendant injured you. Then you have a narrow interpretation, where like in PA, when the Republicans sued because they were barred from watching the ballot counting, the judge ruled that "as long as the Republican observers were in the same building, the requirements of the law were met." Procedural grounds means that not all of the "i"s were dotted and "t"s crossed. NOT ONE case has been heard on the merits.
Trumps followers are too fucking stupid to vote, let alone make an informed decision as to what's really happening. So, I'm too stupid to vote? I don't know what's happening? I'm not saying there was fraud. I am saying there's enough smoke that we should be checking for a fire. When PA emailed out 1.5 million mail-in ballots, but counted 2.1 million, wouldn't that be enough to go "Hmm... That's strange."? Then in GA, the Republican poll-watchers were told "We've stopped counting for the night, go home"? WHO THE FUCK STOPS COUNTING AT A TIME LIKE THIS?? And (caught on video) AFTER the Republican poll watchers leave, boxes of ballots were pulled out from under covered tables? How about those multiple "dumps" of ballots? Multiple "dumps" of exactly 4,800 or multiples of 4,800? Then the fact that "signature verification was not required to verify mail-in ballots" and the "extension" of accepting ballots up until Friday AFTER the election when the law CLEARLY states 8pm Tuesday?
How about the fact that 100 Biden and 100 Trump votes were fed into a Dominion tabulator and it recorded 113 Biden votes and 87 Trump votes? How about people who were verified that they moved out of state or died voting?
You don't find any of these even slightly irregular?
Of course the Pravdas can't find any election fraud, you have to be actively looking for it first before you can find it.

Not one case has been brought that had merit. Funny thing is the Trumpists are claiming voter fraud but I have not heard one defending the lack of action by the outgoing administration on Covid or any of a myriad of issues that harmed Americans. Did anybody hear about the armed citizens gathering where vote counting is going on? Ya, all Republican actions were above board like trying to kidnap a blue state governor. Can you imagine a Democrat telling armed militia to stand by? The bullying did not work, well, not yet at least. I have never heard of a sitting president allowing discussion of martial law as a way to change the result of an election. I guess we are in for a lot of whining.

I have never heard of a sitting president allowing discussion of martial law as a way to change the result of an election. I guess we are in for a lot of whining. No, most of the cases that have been not heard were due to lack of standing. Tell me what cases were heard, fully. And what, exactly is the government supposed to do about COVID? What is Trump doing that he shouldn't be doing, or what isn't he doing that he should be doing? Trump got Big Pharma to get a vaccine out in 10 months where the process normally takes 5 years. Did anybody hear about the armed citizens gathering where vote counting is going on? And how many shots were fired? How much property damage? How many people were assaulted and/or killed? I'll answer for you because you never will, Z-E-R-O. Hurting peoples feelings when they are allegedly doing illegal things don't count.
Tell me, if you firmly believed a woman was being brutalized and raped in a room, would you try to stop it? Because every county tabulation center where cheating went on, Lady Liberty got raped.
Ya, all Republican actions were above board like trying to kidnap a blue state governor. Oh, the Whitmer Bitch. Yeah, attempting to kidnap her is not cool. Against the law and all that. Prosecute the bastards to the full extent of the law. Which is more than what you will call for about the property damage, murders and attempted murders, assaults, looting a various sundry things that went on for 3+ months in Seattle, Minneapolis, Portland and other cities.
We should, of course, ignore the fact that when a state court told her to stop with the dictator shit, she said, "Nah, I'll keep doing my dictator thing. Fuck off." I have never heard of a sitting president allowing discussion of martial law as a way to change the result of an election. I guess we are in for a lot of whining. I'm sorry, we have a man who is about to become President. A man who has been publicly documented to have been compromised by a foreign hostile power. Who is "office mates" with the emissary of a CCP-controlled corporation Are you so willing to get Trump out you willingly want a real life willing Manchurian Candidate into the White House? Or you know this and you're willing to let the most radical-Leftist Senator to take power after he's resigned? Who's already stated that (my words) "She has a bigger pen and phone that Obama had"?

We are not longer a "Government of the People, by the People and for the People." We haven't been since 1960 and probably even before that. We have had a ruling elite class that has entrenched themselves in the halls of power like a botfly. They sit under the skin of the host, feeding off them, growing, and occasionally shitting out the hole in the skin they breathe through.
Trump won because We the People finally got sick of the shit. He won because Hillary did not have the "vote-boosting" machine used for Biden. Trump was hired to to the "Jesus kicking the money changers out of the Temple" thing. Overturning tables and whipping people. You can't be "Presidential" (I'm assuming you mean "polite, compromising, go-along-to-get-along" kind of thing) and get done what we wanted him to do. We sent him in there to "Kick ass and chew bubble gum" without any bubble gum. The fact that he pissed off EVERYBODY in Washington is a clear sign he's like a B-17 raid: the flak is heaviest over the target. Every lawmaker, every senior bureaucrat is compromised in some way. Either ideologically committed or compromised and forced to carry out an agenda that doesn't care about the well-being of us peons.
As far as Trump personally, I'm not a fan of him. You have to understand he grew up in Queens and has a perpetual chip on his shoulder. Not as rich as the Manhattan kids, not as tough as the Bronx kids. So "hyperbolic" should be his middle name.
What you don't seem to understand is this: "Trump's supporters take him seriously, but not literally. Trump's haters take him literally, but not seriously."

Ya, no frivolous lawsuits. Notice that many tossed out because number of votes being challenged would not change results. Note that some were tossed because the plaintives gave no evidence of fuaud, just accusations. And tossing for lack of standing is not a loophole, it is a point law that has existed for centuries. Trump haters did not want to take him literally 4 years ago but time showed all too often that just when we thought he could not mean what he said he went ahead and did things really stupid. Here is a summary of lawsuits: abcnews.go.com/Politics/election-2020-trump-campaign-election-lawsuits-stand/story?id=74041748

Yeah, push comes to shove when you get in front of a judge and have to show actual evidence. That's why all of the judges, Democrats and Republicans, have said GTFO.

Yup, about half of us voters elected Trump when he said he'd clean up that daymn swamp in DC. All those politicians and bureaucrats that have made a career of spending our tax dollars in ways we don't like.
Well, he had two problems:
#1 He had NO IDEA how deep that swamp was! He thought he'd wade in there with his hip boots, dig a little trench, and problem solved. Hell, he waded in there and found that swamp over his head .. in more ways than one.
#2 He had NO IDEA how hard the denizens of that swamp would fight back! They were after him from the day he got elected. And the media denizen's assault was something to behold. He kept calling it 'fake news', but it really wasn't not true. It was just biased, slanted, opinionated, and otherwise anything they could do to make him look bad. And he gave them plenty of ammo with his tweets and such.
So, all said and done, Trump failed to 'drain the swamp' that we were all tired of 4 years ago.
And here we are today, having just elected the denizens of the swamp once again!
I guess we never learn.
