Not that I don't trust the government, but I don't trust the government on any level. linkI have no doubt this COVID-19 was a man-made, manufactured crisis.

I believe this was an accidental release from a bioweapons lab. If it would had been intentional, the first cases would not have been in China, they would have been here.
I also believe the US government is doing the best they can. It's the media and their drive to destroy Trump that is pouring gasoline on the fire.
I hope this will teach the general populace a couple of things: Whatever the government does will always be too little too late, and individuals have to take responsibility for their own health and well-being.

I've asked on several forums and gotten no response to the following: Has there been an R naught, (R-0) value that has been released anywhere?

Thanks for the info. However, that number only applies to the specific closed and limited population of the cruise ship. It doesn't apply to the general population or community. That's what is really important.

I talked to our County Public Health Doc today. The R-naught value is still between 2.0 and 2.5. He said 2.28 was pretty accurate even out in the wild.

Government control and loss of civil liberties. I can see them using an emergency to seize power, restrict movement, seize assets and firearms. 1984 was supposed to be a warning. Not a "how to" manual.

Actually the federal government has a lot less legal power than people are attributing to it regarding national lockdown, seizure of things and restricting civil liberties. Way less.
Others around the posting forums are talking martial law. At this point ridiculous. Look up the history of martial law in this country at any time anywhere in the US. It is almost non existent.
Binge buying of things like bottled water and toilet paper are ridiculous. The water supply is completely safe and not in danger or under threat. Toilet paper? Really? Really?
The corona virus is a very serious international and US national crisis, no doubt about it. Both the health of the residents here and the international economy is going to suffer. Those are facts. But the level of FUD by some here in the US exceeds anything previously experienced by me in my lifetime.

On a lighter note, my firearms business has never been better.

Binge buying of things like bottled water and toilet paper are ridiculous. T Several months ago my family stopped buying bottled water (and my beloved ICE fruit-flavored drinks). COVID-19 wasn't a thing yet -- we just wanted to cut down on the amount of plastic we were generating. My oldest son, who chain drank bottled water, now has his own Brita pitcher to take some of the workload off the older one we have in the kitchen. I bought a Sodastream to make my own diet sodas.
