Many 9//11 First Responders have died from illnesses they acquired from events on 9/11 and the aftermath. Now those that are still alive but suffering from serious or terminal illnesses face the possibility of losing the special healthcare granted to them back in 2001.
On their behalf Jon Stewart, with first responders sitting behind him, addressed a Congressional Panel today where he both pleaded and harshly scolded congress for its inaction in permitting the current healthcare crisis to arise.
I’ve never heard anything so powerful, eloquent, and important expressed so well. I refuse to believe that there is anyone that could watch and listen to his words and not be moved.

He done good, that's for sure, but I've seen several times today that the hearing he went to was just a sub-committee, and not all the chairs would have been filled anyways.
Still doesn't excuse the fact they drug their feet until they got slapped upside the noggin in the press.

Stewart's "closing argument" is so awesomely effective and powerful that if as a lawyer he gave an equal level closing argument to the jury, they would convict the judge and prosecutor.
