When this presenter mentioned the price of the monitor stand at WWDC, he got a somewhat milder version of the reaction that Hickenlooper got at the California Democratic convention last week when he said that socialism isn't the answer.

You gotta love the new doc on "how to care for your Titanium Apple Card" It's like they've never seen a credit card in a wallet before.. support.apple.com/en-us/HT210399* How to clean your titanium Apple Card If your titanium Apple Card comes into contact with contaminants that can cause stains, follow these steps to clean your card: Gently wipe with a soft, slightly damp, lint-free microfiber cloth. Moisten a soft, microfiber cloth with isopropyl alcohol and gently wipe the card. Don't use window or household cleaners, compressed air, aerosol sprays, solvents, ammonia, or abrasives to clean your titanium Apple Card. Some fabrics, like leather and denim, might cause permanent discoloration that will not wash off. How to safely store and carry your titanium Apple Card Store your titanium Apple Card in a wallet, pocket, or bag made of soft materials. Place your card in a slot in your wallet or billfold without touching another credit card. If two credit cards are placed in the same slot your card could become scratched. Don't place or store your titanium Apple Card card near magnets. If your card is placed close to a magnetic latch on a purse or bag, the magnetic strip can become demagnetized. Don't place your titanium Apple Card in a pocket or bag that contains loose change, keys, or other potentially abrasive objects. * Yeah, my shit will be scratched in 30 seconds in my Trayvax wallet. Who the hell has time or room to only have a single card anywhere?

You gotta know their consumers though and it's the NIMBY Liberals. The ones that demonize capitalism and yet are the core consumer for Apple products.

No Allene, this is unfettered capitalism. Apple is charging for all the market will bear. Apple bet they could sell X number of those monitors and stands to make the R&D and production run profitable. based on the sales, the next one will be bigger, better (and more expensive), or smaller and less expensive.
Considering this is a "luxury" item, they can charge as much as they want. I'm not going to buy it, but they can charge whatever they want for it.
