If you heard some squeeing earlier on Twitter, that was just me geeking out over the new video someone mashed up for The Expanse coming full time to Amazon in 2019
"9 seasons and a movie" is noted on one sign.
Very slick, and emotional production.

The Expanse. www.imdb.com/title/tt3230854/?ref_=nv_sr_1en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Expanse_(TV_series)It's a Sci Fi series based on a book series by James S A Corey It's about out Solar System after mars has been colonized and people then migrated to the outer asteroid belts, creating three power factions. Earthers who have trashed the planet and have limited resources available, putting up a good front they are still powerful and strong. Martians who have the best tech, colonized Mars and put most of their effort into the military to keep what they have. and Belters who are the outsiders that mine the asteroids and fight each other for scraps. The whole show centers around a new tech that is discovered and causes all 3 factions to fight each other to get control of it while one group made up of people from all 3 factions who realized what was a happening early on try to prevent a disaster after salvaging a Mars light-frigate and rename it the Rocinante. Probably one of the best Sci Fi series to come out in years, and that is a lot from me as much as I loved Firefly. You can watch S1 and 2 free on Amazon Prime, S 3 is there but currently they are still charging, the Sci Fi channel cancelled the series (idiots) last year even though it had decent ratings and Amazon picked it up and will produce several more seasons based on the source material.

Wow, sounds like the Alliance-Union universe of CJ Cherryh's world that she has won many Hugo and Nebula awards for (Cyteen is a must read) so this is right up my ally.
Thanks!

I've read both sets of books, and the similarity is there. One difference is that The Expanse has three factions: Earth, Mars, and the belters. The Expanse is the best show on television right now.

I quite enjoyed the books. Watched many of the episodes on the series and found I got lost easily. May be age, may be I need to reread the books again before embarking on the series again.

The idiotic move by SyFy was to sign an agreement that paid them only for the first run of each episode. Amazon won't have that problem.

So should I read the books first? I hate getting lost in a show. In the first three seasons there was only one scene, in season three, that probably would have lost you if you hadn't read the books first, but it gets explained later. This trailer for season 2 is a nice taste.

As much as I like Miller (Hope he returns more), and Amos being a complete stone cold killer that you can root for, Gunny is just flat-out a serious Bad Ass.

Feel like this show got it right as far as fighting woman kicking dudes' ass. She is a big girl not a skinny stick (Lara Craft latest).

I'm seriously having a hard time processing Cara Gee's real accent in the vid above vs the one she has in the show.
I've never been more excited for a new season of anything else. Ever. Period.
I just started rewatching Season 3 since I missed the first two episodes when it was on air and holy crap Gunny is even more badass than I ever thought.
Spoilers abound, I saw pics of Miller in the cast wrap party for Season 4, I'm glad to see him and his trusty hat back, and they brought in Burn - Fucking - Gorman to play someone in the MCRN in S4 as well.
This show is going to blow the lid off this season.
