I was looking at the comments, just a few, and they were talking about lead pollution from degrading solar panels. Me? I haven't really given it much thought. I live in an area with very clean air, except for the wildfires in the summer. If I were in a city and could save $$ that way, I'd do it.
You would think Florida would be the perfect spot for solar power. But the lobbies have made for funny laws. For instance, you can have your house hooked up with a whole house natural gas generator hooked up to automatically come on in case of a power outage. But you are not allowed to do that with solar power. Reason given is that it would endanger power workers. Have not yet figured out how it is a different danger than the whole house generator.
