This internship is virtual; in-person option

The Chicago Council on Global Affairs offers members and the public insights on global issues by providing a nonpartisan platform for world leaders, policymakers, and experts. Through accessible content and open dialogue of diverse, fact-based perspectives, we empower more people to help shape our global future. The Council’s Programs and Digital Content Team is responsible for conceptualizing, researching, and executing a wide range of in-person and digital products and programs aimed at increasing knowledge and engagement in global affairs.

Interns for the programs and digital content team should have a broad interest in global affairs, an interest in content development, and strong writing and communication skills. Interns will have the opportunity to create digital content for public distribution, support events and creative experiences for Council audiences, work with data and metrics on audience and engagement, and collaborate on projects with team members.

  • Working on a variety of content-portfolios to support the generation of creative social media content and strategies for the Council’s platforms (Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Twitter, Reddit, Facebook, and others). Experience in short form video, such as Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts, is particularly meriting. Familiarity with basic video editing, graphic design work or experience creating graphics for social media is a plus.
