The Boys is on Amazon Prime and a story in a world with superheroes. A Delta male (yes, I mean less than a beta male) had his girlfriend reduced to red goo while he was holding her hands by this world's equivalent of the Flash (a fullback costumed guy called "A-Train") wants to get even. Hughie Campbell is extremely passive and non-confrontational and cannot stand up for himself (learned it from his dad Simon Pegg). But then he happens across Karl Urban (sporting a bad British accent) and they take the fight to the "Supes."
I'm halfway through the 8-episode season, and they've already offed a Supe in a rather... inventive way.
I can usually look at shows like this and predict at least 50% of the outcome, I had it closer to 70% on this after watching it all, including the cliffhanger, and I will go as far as to say as much that the 2 female Supes of the "7" will turn sides next season.
Maybe I'm just old and cynical these days, but most of it to me was "meh" at best.
I really wanted to see more of Hugie's GF, Robin (Who is MaryAnne on Letterkenny) but so much for my wants.
